Marine Poulltant Label Details

The marine pollutant label used to package shipping containers carring marine pollutant goods is typically 250mm x 250 x 354mm in size, which makes the marine polluant label half the size of a typical hazard warning diamonds. Future regulations will look to standardise the marine pollutant label to the same size as the standard hazard warning diamonds (250x250mm).

The first column, entitled “S.M.P.” (for severe marine pollutants), identifies whether a material is a severe marine pollutant. If the letters “PP” appear in this column for a material, the material is a severe marine pollutant, otherwise it is not. The second column, entitled “Marine Pollutant” , lists the marine pollutants.
